Choreography by Jin Ju Song-Begin
Music by Jerome Begin
This work builds a ritual from the Buddhist monk practice of bowing 108 times. 9 bows are augmented with 12 movements each, for a total of 108 movements. Song-Begin draws on traditional philosophical and movement ideas connected to this practice, but sculpts a piece through contemporary minimalist ideas of accumulation.
